More and more often I ran into the challenge of my fading memory. While I have a decent recollection of the characters, I would only partially recall the surrounding world of my subjects. I started to put these experiences on loosely woven linen.
On these paintings, only the character is on a primed support, the surrounding is created without continuous solid paint. Just like a memory might have missing pieces overtime, these painting change too as the light gets stronger in the background, so are little gaps of inconsistencies appear on the painting.
